Hañsa Rest Practice
Hansa Rest has been developed through the observation of human behaviour, leading to the recognition of essential relationships that underlie growth and development for all of us.
Firstly, there is a physiological aspect to consider. Balanced neurological activity plays a crucial role in supporting and restoring homeostasis within the body. The ability to recover from stress and maintain optimal levels of biochemicals is vital for longevity and overall health. The neurological pathway facilitates both action and restoration, and it is important to establish a suitable threshold for physical readiness that avoids unnecessary demands that can gradually impair function over time.
One important aspect that aligns with Hansa Rest is its connection to the developmental stages of infant growth. It also deeply relates to the fundamental drive we all have to connect as human beings on both a physical and emotional level. Connection is established through various means, with touch being a primary portal. There is a profound internal satisfaction and reassurance that comes from physical connection. By engaging in these connections, the physiological and emotional systems are able to regulate themselves and establish clearer boundaries of what is supportive. The sense of safety and support that arises from these connections is crucial for cognitive and developmental growth.
The foundation of the Hansa Rest is rooted in human development and growth across all levels. Its purpose is to support function and create environments that address and restore optimal levels of physiological and psychological activity.
Becoming a Hañsa Rest Facilitator
This training provides the background, format, and the Hañsa philosophy to the practice of Hansa Rest. Students learn initial wrapping sequences that supports and engages rest and restoration. A unique approach in supporting the nervous and emotional systems of the body.
Hansa Rest Unique Wrap System
Hansa Rest is achieved through a simple technique in which the body is uniquely wrapped or swaddled with specially designed muslins that provide maximum support and nurturing. Four single muslin cloths are carefully and skilfully placed to lightly cover the body, ensuring comfort and security. The muslins are crafted and handmade in New Zealand, check out our store for more information on our Hansa Rest muslins.
